Provisions of the virtual (long-distance) International Contest and Festival
for Children and Teenagers of the Second Generation of the Unification Movement






Dear Unification Movement families!

It is with great pleasure that I inform you that from October 28 through December 2, 2018 the International Virtual Contest and Festival for Children and Teenagers of the Second Generation will be held in our continent!

The idea of conducting a contest of this type has opened up possibilities for many creatively gifted children and adolescents of our second generation (as well as groups of individual artists and authors). The exhibition may be viewed not only by the members of the jury, but also thousands of viewers from different nations and continents via the website https://culturefestival.ru/. Our contest will serve as a stimulus for blessed families and for the fulfillment and propagation of cultural works and values from each nation or ethnic group! This contest will enable people to transcend geographical and material barriers and to provide equal opportunities for each blessed family for the sake of participating in this international contest. There are truly many talented second generation children and teenagers in our continent! Anyone can freely enter this contest: simply submit your application with an introduction along with a photo of your project or written text as an attached file. The International Contest itself will be hosted in Moscow in the Russia based on long-distance submissions.









General Information

The basic goal of this International Contest is to create a favorable medium for sharing, interaction, communication, cultural development, and support of children and adolescents of the second generation.

This contest is to be conducted in virtual (long-distance) mode via video recordings and photography. Participation in our contest is extremely simple: You may simply record your individual or collective presentation on YouTube, record your artistic work by photographic means, or draft your literary work as a text document, then fill out an application, send a digital copy of the birth certificate or national passport of the participant in the contest, pay an entry fee, and then wait for the results of the contest and the decisions of the jury. According to the results of the evaluation, the jury will be awarded the Grand Prix, Laureate Awards, or the Honorable Diplomas of the respective degrees, and the Internet audience will vote for the Audience Choice Award, the winners will receive an award diploma of the corresponding form.

Individual, separate artists or performers may participate in the contest as well as groups, choirs, orchestras, dance troupes, theatre groups, young artists, sculptors, designers, poets, and writers.

The contest will be conducted according to several different age categories, as follows:

  1. 6-8 years of age,
  2. 9-11 years old,
  3. 12-14 years old,
  4. 15-17 years old,
  5. 18 — 21 years old,
  6. Mixed age group and
  7. Family category (parent (s) absolutely together with child (children)). Participation of two or more families is allowed in preparation of artistic production in family category.

The age of the participants shall be reckoned upon the date the contest is held.

Organizational forms of participation in this contest for all types of artistic productions:

  • Solo, separate and individual artistic creators.
  • Duet and trio.
  • Assembly or collectives of 4 to 11 people.
  • Choirs, choreographic collectives, and groups from 12 people and larger.
  • Family category (parent (s) absolutely together with child (children))

Program stipulations:

Soloists, ensembles, collectives, and authors must demonstrate or conduct one (1) piece as one single submitted entry.

The contestants may submit no more than three entries (art work) in one category conditional upon paying a separate fee for each entry and each title (see “The cost or fee rates”)

Contest categories by types and genres of art:

I. Choral and ensemble singing (vocal ensemble (4 to 11 people) and the chorus (12 people or larger).
Genres:

  • Pop Vocal;
  • Holy song;
  • Jazz vocals;
  • Academic singing;
  • Folk singing, including folklore and ethnography;
  • Also, the team can include in its program the work of his own composition (if any).

Soundtracks in the folk and academic vocals are allowed as an accompaniment, without use of voice amplification.

We want to draw your attention that in this category there is an additional criterion – the unity of style and colors. (for example, having a common item of clothing or accessory)

II. Dance (solo, ensemble): all genres.

III. Solo singing.

Genres:

  • Pop Vocal;
  • Holy song;
  • Jazz vocals;
  • Academic singing;
  • Folk singing, including folklore and ethnography;
  • New art song (performed by the author, by another person, ensemble, chorus, accompanied by an orchestra or a musical instrument)

In the folk and academic vocals, soundtracks are allowed as an accompaniment, without use of voice amplification.
The program must be performed by heart.

IV. Vocal duets and trios.

Genres:

  • Pop Vocal;
  • Holy song;
  • Jazz vocals;
  • Academic singing;
  • Folk singing, including folklore and ethnography;
  • New art song (performed by the author, by another person, ensemble, chorus, accompanied by an orchestra or a musical instrument)

In the folk and academic vocals, soundtracks are allowed as an accompaniment, without use of voice amplification.
The program must be performed by heart.

V. Instrumental musical performance.

  • Classic instruments (piano, string instruments, wind instruments, percussion) solo, ensemble, orchestra;
  • Folk instruments (string instruments, folk accordion, accordion, harmonica) solo, ensemble, orchestra;
  • Mixed ensembles and orchestras;
  • Variety and symphonic ensembles and orchestras;
  • Electronic instruments (ensembles);
  • New musical composition for the performance on various musical instruments (by author, by another musician, band or orchestra).The program must be performed by heart.

VI. Fine arts.

  • Painting

Attention! In this category we expect some photos of your work!
In this category the participants do not send videos, only 1 (one) photo of a particular art work. We ask you to pre-compress your photos. If this is a computer art work, then record a video of your working process and put it on YOUTUBE.

VII. Theatrical creativity (limit 10 min).

  • Thumbnails (midgets), excerpts of performances;
  • Word Art (reciting);
  • Puppet show;
  • Theater of mime and gesture;
  • Musical theatre.

The main criteria will be the creation of the stage image and artistry.
Reading poems with expression would not meet this criteria.

The program must be performed by heart.

VIII. Author literary works:

  • Poem
  • Prose
  • Piece
  • Scenario

From the authors of literary works we expect the document in text format.


Jury and the results of the contest

The jury will evaluate the performance of the contestants based on the selected genre and age group.

Criteria for evaluating the contenders:

  1. Spiritual culture and aesthetics of performance or content of the work.
  2. Performance technique.
  3. Emotional level of performance.
  4. Originality of the performing interpretation.
  5. Artistry.

For each category more specific criterias are developed.

The results of the virtual (long-distance) international competition and rewarding are announced separately for all nominations according to the age group and provide for the award of the following titles:

  1. The Grand Prix Laureate — the Diploma «Grand Prix».
  2. Prize winner (three prizes) — diplomas «Awardee of the 1st degree», «Awardee of the 2nd degree,» «Awardee of the 3rd degree.»
  3. Winner of the “Audience Choice Award.”
  4. «Diploma of the 1st degree», «Diploma of the 2nd degree», «Diploma of the 3rd degree.»

The Grand Prix is awarded to the participant on the jury's evaluation, in coordination with the Organizing Committee. The Laureate is awarded on condition that a passing score which is determined by the Organizing Committee based on the results of the jury's assessment is obtained.

All awards will be signed by the leader of the Unification Movement, chairman of the jury in each art form, and stamped. All certificates are issued in Russian and English languages. We send Diplomas in one package with a custom notification.

Attention! The contest in each age category can take place only with involvement of at least 3 contestants. For example, in the category “Theatre creativity,” the nomination of “Word Art” (reciting), in the age group of 6-8 years there should be at least 3 different contestants. If contestants are less in this age group and there are participants in other genres, these genres may be combined to ensure that judges were able to evaluate them.


How to participate in the contest

To apply for the contest you have to sign up for using website, at first.

When you register, you will receive an email “[Hyo Jeong Culture Festival] Your username and password”. In order to complete the registration, use the link from email to set a password, confirm it. After that you will be able to sign in and submit an application form for the contest.

There are two ways to submit your art work :
— My Content menu panel
— by using a special Application form.

On having received a response of curator of your art form, pay the fee and wait for the results of the jury voting.
Your materials will be posted on the website https://culturefestival.ru in a respective category.

The cost or fee rates:

  • Soloist – one entry is 300 rub (4 EUR) per person, each next entry (not more than three entries (art work) in one category) is 200 rub (3 EUR) per person. For example, 2 entries – 500 rub (7 EUR), 3 entries – 700 rub (10 EUR).
  • Ensemble, choir, orchestra, group team – one entry is 200 rub (3 EUR) per person, each next entry (not more than three entries (art work) in one category) is 100 rub (1.5 EUR) per person. For example, team of 5 people, one entry – 1000 rub (15 EUR), 2 entries – 1500 rub (22.5 EUR), 3 entries – 2000 rub (30 EUR);
    After the competition, your financial contributions will not be returned.

Attention! The entries (art work) that took part in the contest in 2016, 2017 are not accepted. The work of 2018 must be submitted for the competition.

Individual work in the team is not accepted. For example, if your child is a member of a group, the performance of this group cannot be claimed as his or her own entry (art work).

You cannot participate in two teams in the same category at the same time.


The timing of the contest stages:


Entering competitive art works (accepting applications): up to December 2, 2018 inclusive
Assessment of the jury: December 3-9, 2018
Announcement of the results: December 13, 2018
Festival: December 16, 2018 in Moscow

Acceptance of applications and organizational contributions will continue up to December 2, 2018 inclusive! Be careful and try to send all your materials before then.

Audience Choice Award

Each of you and your friends, acquaintances, and relatives will be able to vote for a favorite contestant on https://culturefestival.ru/. To do this you need to post your comment to your favorite entry.
Winner of the Audience Choice Award becomes a participant in the final of the Festival, which will take place on December 16, 2018 in Moscow.


Technical requirements

Technical requirements

✔ In order to put all participants in the same yechnical conditions, it is not allowed to use an external microphone for soloists, duets, trios and ensembles.

✔ Video recording must be carried out without shutting down and stopping the camcorder, from the beginning to the end of the composition, without stopping and editing. Recording pauses between compositions are allowed. Depending on the category, during the performance of a composition in video recording, hands, instrument, and the face of the contestant should be clearly visible. In the ensemble nomination, all members of the ensemble must be clearly visible. Amateur format is allowedsubject to all other conditions of the contest. In case of discrepancy of the video with specifications of the competition, the sent application will not be considered.

Technical requirements for the photographs

Picture formats: JPG, PNG, TIFF. Picture size: not bigger than 1MB. All the photographs for the competition should contain the data in the lower right corner (name, age, nomination, country, and city).

Technical requirements for literary works:

All literary works entered in the contest must have a cover page with the following information: participant's name, age, nomination, country, city.

After December 13, within three days, each participant will receive an email from the Organizing Committee and a copy of the Diploma. The original will be sent by mail.
Diplomas will be sent to all participants within 10 days after the announcement of the contest results.
The winners, who came to the festival, will receive diplomas and prizes during the festival.














Festival

Festival is the final festive event that will take place in Moscow, on December 16, 2018. We hope that all the Grand Prix Laureates and other winners, as well as the winner of the Audience Choice Award will be able to come to Moscow to participate in the Festival.
About the exact time of the Festival, we will inform you later. Details of the participants’ arrival and accommodation are being considered.
